Aston Martin has a rich heritage. With an advanced start in 1949, Aston Martin Racing had already made a splash. By 1951, the Aston Martin Racing had made itself known with a dominating podium sweep in class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. That wasn’t all. Again in 1959, the DBR1 finished first and second overall at the Circuit de la Sarthe.
In 2005, Aston Martin returned to GT racing as a factory team. This led to back-to-back victories with the DBR9 GT1 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2007 and 2008. The DBR9 GT1 also won the 2011 FIA GT1 World Championship. Since 2005, Aston Martin Racing has earned several significant victories in their career. The initial race earned their first victory at 2005 12 Hours of Sebring by defeating the Corvette Racing Squad.
Continuing on their quest for victory and premium sportscar domination, Aston Martin has been racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship and has earned several wins and titles including the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMGTE Am Teams and Drivers, 2014 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGTE Am Category, the crown in the World Endurance Cup for GT Drivers in 2016, and the LMGTE Pro Teams Championship in 2017.
Founded in 1993, the California based The Racers Group (TRG) has competed at the top level of motor racing for almost two decades. They proudly claim to have competed in all major series and hold victories in ALMS GT Class, Rolex Series GT Class, and more. The TRG resume is padded with four total championships, four Rolex 24 Hour at Daytona wins, and a Le Mans 24 Hours victory.
